Galeria Múrias Centeno is pleased to announce the solo exhibition of Diogo Pimentão, “Collinear Breath” in its gallery space in Lisbon.

The work presented by Diogo Pimentão is the result of a continuous search, based on a permanent questioning of technical and theoretical limits of drawing and its potential implementation in a latent dimensionality. From the flat surface erupt new flexible forms and volumes that refute hierarchies between drawing and sculpture, and counteract the predictable memory of raw paper, into a language that freely incorporates the intentional and improvised. The contact between the support and the graphite medium is just the starting point of a working process where the repetition of gesture amounts to a performative condition with absolute primacy in the way it represents over the represented object.

What is proposed in the final work are traits, indelible marks of an intuited choreography.
